Kick-off this weekend for the traditional Fréjus City Trophy "Pascal-Albuixech"

Each year, this is the first summer tennis tournament to take off in the city. The Trophée de la Ville de Fréjus "Pascal-Albuixech" kicks off this Saturday, June 21, on the Gallieni courts. Organized by the tennis section of the Fréjus Multisports and Leisure Association (AMSLF), chaired by Jean-Michel Lopez, this open tournament, with prize money of €4,500, will be played over two weeks on the courts of the Tour de Mare.
An important fortnight for the clubIt will conclude on Saturday, July 5, the date of the finals for all categories. In 2024, in the senior women's category, the final victory went to Cannes' Emira Diabaté at the expense of Fréjus' Célia Bottero after two closely contested sets.
In the senior men's category, Jules Leroux, also a member of Cannes' team, won against a former Gallieni member, Mathieu Scaglia.
In addition to the seniors, the players will find themselves in the traditional age categories: 11-12 years, 13-14 years, 15-16 years, +35 years, +45 years, +55 years, and even 17-18 years and +65 years for the men.
Not forgetting the women's doubles, men's doubles, and mixed doubles tournaments. The entire tournament is once again set to music this year by referee Stéphane Gavoille.
The club's sports director, Xavier Martinez, emphasizes the involvement of the entire AMSLF section in the organization: "This is an important fortnight for our club. This tournament closes the sporting year. And we already have around forty editions of this event, which is highly anticipated, especially by our members. We hope to welcome as many registrants as possible, and it's off to a good start just a few days before the starting gun."
